GPRS technology claims to be the most cost-effective mobile communication. The base protocol being the TCP/IP opens diverse possibilities of building very efficient networks, using the Internet as the communication channel. Basically two types of network topologies can be realized; point-to-point connection between GPRS devices and client-server configuration having the GPRS devices as clients and one public connection as a communication dispatcher server. In both cases communication goes through Internet secure channels, using a well-known encryption algorithm.
Normal GPRS subscription provides an Internet access through a firewall, with no public IP address. This means that the GPRS providers FW server blocks external connections, but communication sockets can be opened from the GPRS side. So direct connection from one GPRS device to another GPRS device is not feasible, a proxy server is needed to route the IP packets between devices.

GPRS client-server configuration
This is the easiest configuration, having a dispatcher server with public access from Internet and GPRS devices connected to it on a specified communication socket.

GPRS P-T-P router for easy and cost-effective configurations
Gamma Digital Ltd. delivers two solutions for P-T-P GPRS communication:
Client-server communication dispatcher
The most preferred topology using GPRS is the client-server configuration, where GPRS devices are the clients and one central unit acting as server manages these clients. Gamma Digital Ltd. delivers the communication DLL which manages the GPRS end-points and can be linked by the user developed dispatcher SW. Dispatcher SW satisfying users requirements can also be developed by our company.
